About the SCJA designation

The SCJA is professional certification from Sun Microsystems in Java, and stands for Sun Certified Java Associate. From their site:

This certification provides an ideal entry into an application development or a software project management career using Java technologies. It validates basic knowledge of OO concepts, the Java programming language and general knowledge of Java platforms and technologies.

I took this exam to show that I am serious about my studies in Java, and that I've taken steps to prove it. I am allowed to use this icon because I passed the SCJA exam (90%) in June 2008. I have since passed the SCJP exam in March 2010.
